Consultation on changes to specialised services specifications NHS England has launched (26 Feb 2014) a three-month public consultation on changes made to a number of its specialised services specifications. Service specifications set out what is expected from providers and define access to a service. They also set out a series of core and developmental standards. Core standards are those which any reasonable provider of a service should be able to demonstrate, whilst developmental standards are in place to improve services over a period of time.
All 14 service specifications have already been subject to consultation, however, we are now consulting on changes made to those documents. All amendments made are clearly marked on the individual documents and have already been tested with stakeholders who felt the changes to the documents proposed were significant enough to warrant further consultation.

In addition to the service specifications, they are also consulting on the E11 Specialised Maternity insert which is a new document.
